THE SECRET:

MSA has evolved our own working Principles of Sustainability as a part of everything we do, not only in our work, but also within our corporate culture.

Here is The SECRET we use for guiding our work and inform those we serve about the green architecture: planning, design, construction and project management processes.

  • Interaction

Communication. Collaboration. Cooperation.

These three tenets are the essential components of the green planning and design process. Effective interaction between the team of architects, landscape architects, planners, engineers, contractors and the ultimate users as well as maintenance personnel for ensuring a successful sustainable design.

  • ” Less is More”

Minimize the environmental footprint.

Conserve natural resources, reduce energy and water consumption, generate less pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, design and build simply with less.

  • Challenge the Conventions

Never assume. Never settle. Never accept the status quo. Keep an open mind and explore for innovations through designs, appropriate technologies and new materials for changing conventions in design, construction and project management.

  • Zoom Out

Each building is part of a much larger whole –the surrounding neighborhood, the community, entire region and its businesses, local and higher education institutions, and the cultural environment. The project team must integrate planning, design, construction process and users into this larger whole of Architecture.

  • Zoom In

Each planning and design component is part of a much larger whole. Green the details and you’ll green the project.

  • Build Smart

Every planning and design decision should have a reason grounded in sustainability, every building or campus facility should have a purpose, every detail must be necessary to the entire building or campus.

  • Enrich Lives

Green Architecture-planning and design should enrich the lives and livelihood of all the building users on a daily basis. Construction, Maintenance and Operation of the facility shall be efficient as well as cost effective.

  • Create Value

The green architecture: planning and design process should Create Value for all and every investment within each project must yield ecological benefits to the whole environment.

  • Prove It

Provide the hard numbers and facts that all business owners, developers, administrators, maintenance staff, taxpayers and students may require about the true costs and benefits of designing green architecture for environmental sustainability.

  • Step Up

Stop talking about it and start doing it.

The time for energy efficient and eco-conscious buildings, environmentally sustainable architecture:  DO more with LESS-it is NOW – in the Present, and in every opportunity for designing the better future.
